Voting System Results

Dear PEGO members,

PEGO’s first electronic voting trial ended on Monday, July 9^th, 2012. This vote asked members about switching to an e-ballot system or continuing with the existing paper ballot system. Despite some initial difficulties, members’ participation and feedback was excellent and promising.

557 e-ballots were sent to PEGO members
290 votes were cast

The results are as follows:

9 votes in favour of the paper ballot
281 votes in favour of the e-ballot

The result can also be viewed by accessing PEGO’s voting site at pego.simplyvoting.com then clicking on New Voting System Proposal.

2012 Presidents Bursary

The 2012 PEGO Presidents Bursary deadline is looming, make sure all the proper forms are filled out and sent into the PEGO office by September 10th, 2012.

With your application, make sure to include the following:

Completed bursary application form (both student and PEGO member must fill out)
High School Transcript
Acceptance letter from accredited Ontario University for a first year entry into an Engineering Program
500 word essay on why you want to become an Engineer

PEGO 2012 DELEGATES’ COUNCIL

This year the Delegates’ Meeting will be held:

Wednesday, June 13, 2012
Columbus Centre, 901 Lawrence Ave. West, Toronto
9:30 AM – 4:00 PM

COFFEE, MUFFINS AND LUNCH PROVIDED

Delegates requiring accommodation should contact the Holiday Inn – Yorkdale, 3450 Dufferin Street, Tel: (416) 789-5161, which is close to the Columbus Centre. Delegates outside of the Toronto Region should use a rental car as this is the most economical means of travel.

Delegates and executive members must confirm that they will attend the meeting or it will be assumed they are not planning to be there. Please notify the PEGO office with e-mail to pego@pego.on.ca no later than Friday, June 8, 2012 confirming that you will attend so that the restaurant will know how many meals to prepare.
